On Saturday 7th February Officers from North East Leeds NPT Team 1 were conducting proactive patrols in the Roundhay ward area when they stopped a vehicle for no insurance. Whilst dealing with the driver, they also sighted another vehicle driving erratically.
Officers followed the vehicle causing it to stop at which point one of the two occupants attempted to flee the scene. He was detained by officers.
On their persons and within the vehicle was a large quantity of cannabis and cash. Both occupants were arrested and brought into custody. They have now both been released under police bail whilst the investigation continues. The vehicle involved has also been seized and the driver reported for no licence and no insurance.
